As a web developer, Jquery has been always around, in this times 2024 where we have React, Angular , VueJs etc etc, I still use jquery for some simple projects.

So It is great news Jquery it is still rolling, anyhow it is no the best option always but good news anyhow. In Most of the cases there are ways to only use javascript vanilla,  but I also like how Jquery make it simpler, check this resource it is very usefull to  check how to move from jquery to vanilla js.
